‘I Waited A Year’ is the new single from Jo Bartlett. It’s a pristine piece of folktronica that was written during a bout of insomnia during the 2022 summer heatwave. “I was wondering why I wasn’t sleeping,” she says. “Was one of the reasons because I had put too much hope into a dance track I had done the vocals on earlier in the year? Maybe. So to write a song about a song seemed fitting.” Musically, the track blends the sound of nostalgic bedroom pop with serene synths that contribute to a warm, psychedelic timbral palette.
